KiiLime's copyright
KiiLime is the network behind kiili.me: the KiiLime app, the KiiLimeDB community database, and the KiiVerse social features. The KiiLime, KiiLimeDB, and KiiVerse names and logos, the original design, layout, interface, and icon set, and the site's own code and written text are the property of KiiLime and its author, except where noted below. You may not copy, rebrand, or redistribute them as your own.
Third-party and community material
KiiLimeDB is a community catalogue, and much of what appears on it comes from games and platforms created by other people and companies. To be completely clear:
- Game names and platform names, box art, logos, icons, heroes, screenshots, audio, themes, and any other artwork or media relating to a game or console are the property of their respective publishers, developers, and rights holders.
- All trademarks, service marks, and trade names belong to their respective owners. Their appearance on KiiLime is nominative - it identifies the games and platforms being catalogued - and does not imply any endorsement by, or affiliation with, those owners.
- KiiLime does not claim ownership of any third-party material, and makes no ownership claim over the games, consoles, or franchises it references.
- Material uploaded by community members remains the responsibility of the person who uploaded it. Contributors must only upload material they have the right to share.

Website licensing
KiiLime is a fully closed-source project. Its source code is not published or made available, is not placed in the public domain, and is not offered under any open-source licence. The site's original written content and design are provided only for use of this network, and may not be sold, sublicensed, rebranded, or used to run a competing service without written permission. Community contributions to KiiLimeDB - the metadata you write, your edits, and the assets you upload - are licensed to KiiLime on a non-exclusive basis so the database can store, display, and distribute them as part of the catalogue; you keep whatever rights you already held in what you contributed.
Inspiration and attribution
KiiLime, KiiLimeDB, and KiiVerse are heavily inspired by, and derive many of their ideas and features from, iiSU and Cocoon. The overall concept, a number of interface patterns, and several of the features found across the app, the database, and the social side grew directly out of those projects. KiiLime is an independent work and is not affiliated with iiSU or Cocoon, but we openly credit them as the foundation these ideas were built on.

Sending a DMCA notice
Copyright owners, or people authorised to act for them, who believe material hosted on KiiLime infringes their rights may send a written notice to our designated copyright agent by email:

To be effective, your notice should include: a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf; identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed; identification of the material you believe is infringing, with enough detail (such as its URL) for us to find it; your name, address, and email; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent, or the law; and a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
How we handle notices
When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable access to the material in question as promptly as we reasonably can, and we make a reasonable effort to let the person who uploaded it know why it was removed.
Filing a counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe it was taken down by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. A counter-notice should include: your signature; identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before it was removed; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; and your name, address, email, and consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts. If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material unless the original complainant pursues the matter further.
Repeat infringers
We reserve the right to remove content and to suspend or permanently terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the copyright of others.
